Stefan Klieme has released TimeMachineScheduler 2.0. This simple application disables the automatic hourly backup function of Time Machine and installs its own launchd daemon. The backup interval can then be set between 1 and 12 hours with a slider control in the application. You can also click on a "Run Backup Now" button to backup immediately, or schedule a backup at startup. We're talking about total control over your backups here! So what's new in version 2.0?
Changes include:
Automount, an option to mount and unmount the backup volume automatically
Option to hide the backup volume
Uses now a launchd daemon instead of an agent
Improved authentication management
French and Spanish localization
Italian localization
TimeMachineScheduler 2.0 requires Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard or later. The download weighs in at 1.6MB.
