Adium hooks up with MeBeam for video chat

The Mac community has been waiting for video chat to come to Adium for a while now. Well, we have some good news to report on this front. The Adium team has hooked up with MeBeam to bring video chat to the current version of Adium. You just need to download the MeBeam plugin from Adium's Xtras page to get things working. To video chat with someone, you simply ctrl-click (or right-click) on their IM name and choose "Initiate MeBeam Videochat". This will open up your web browser and bring you to a Flash-based interface for the video chat. This probably isn't the solution you were hoping for, but it seems to work well. It should hold you over until the Adium team cranks out their planned native A/V solution.
