It seems like the semitransparent menu bar in Leopard is a love it or hate it thing. Well, we have some good news for those of you that hate it out there. Eternal Storms Software has released OpaqueMenuBar 1.0, a free little application that allows Mac users to turn off the semitransparent menu bar effect in Leopard. You will not be able to see through the menu bar with it enabled. To revert back to the semitransparent menu bar, you just need to quit the application from Activity Monitor or open Terminal and type "killall OpaqueMenuBar" without the quotes and press enter. OpaqueMenuBar requires Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. The download weighs in at 242KB.
