NeoOffice.org has announced the release of NeoOffice 2.2.1. According to the developers, NeoOffice 2.2.1 allows Mac users to utilize most Microsoft Office 2007 Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files without the need for Microsoft's Office 2007 translators. Also, with native Mac OS X spell checking and address book support, NeoOffice users now have a more seamless integration of Mac OS X's built-in tools than either Microsoft Office or OpenOffice.org. Lastly, NeoOffice users can now print high-resolution images at the resolution supported by their printer.
NeoOffice 2.2.1 contains a number of unique new features including:
Based on OpenOffice.org 2.2.1 codebase
Support for Microsoft Office 2007 Excel and PowerPoint document formats
Support for Mac OS X 10.5 Beta
Support for Quick Look under Mac OS X 10.5
Access to the Mac OS X Address Book as a data source
Use of the native Mac OS X spell-checker for supported languages
Enhanced the Aqua set of toolbar icons with a more Aqua appearance
Support for printing high resolution images at their expected DPI
NeoOffice 2.2.1 requires Mac OS X 10.3 or higher, 512 MB of memory, and 400 MB of free disk space. The download weighs in at 150MB for Intel-based Macs and 152MB for PPC-based Macs.
