Mac Mini Rides: Chevy Beast
Thursday January 26, 2006 7:55 AM EST
What's better than getting together with a couple of friends, and installing a Mac mini into your truck? Zach Ducker, a Mac mini enthusiast, and his friends have created the Chevy Beast. This Mac'd out ride includes a 1.42GHz Mac mini, 10.2" Xenarc 1020TSV touch screen, Garmin GPS V, Cirque track-pad, and more. A custom-made center console covered in pink shag (yes, you read it right) houses the Mac mini, Carnetix power supply, Pyle video amplifier/distributor, 800W AC inverter with two 110V AC outlets, USB 2.0 hub, and four 12V outlets.
Zach has posted a bunch of pictures on his website showing the project from beginning to end. He's even posted some videos of the setup in action. Go check it out!
