ADS Tech's USB 2.0 Mini Drive Kit for the Mac Mini
Tuesday May 10, 2005 2:16 PM EST
ADS Tech has announced a new external USB 2.0 drive kit for the Apple Mac mini. The drive kit is designed to match the Mac mini's form factor and is 6.5 inches square and less than 2 inches high. Mac mini users can quickly and easily expand their storage capacity by simply plugging an IDE Ultra DMA 33/66 or ATA-100/133 hard disk drive into the ADS Tech Native Bridge Board inside the drive kit's enclosure. The drive enclosure is powered by an external power supply that provides both 5 and 12 volts to the drive. The enclosure also includes a rear power toggle switch and hard drive activity light to let users know when the drive is being accessed.
Mac mini users can backup data with one click of the Simple Touch Backup Button on the front of the drive enclosure. A micro-slot is built into the back of the enclosure and is compatible with Anchor Pad and Kensington locks for security. ADS Tech's kit includes the USB 2.0 Drive Enclosure, a 9-inch USB white cable and a 5-inch USB white cable, a 5-Volt/12-volt Power Supply and a CD with Intech's Utilities for PC and Mac systems. The kit will be available through ADS Tech's network of online and retail channels worldwide and has a suggested retail price of $59.95.
