QuickerTek Unveils Mac Mini 27dBm Transceiver
Monday April 11, 2005 12:18 AM EST

QuickerTek has unveiled the Mac Mini 27dBm Transceiver designed for the Apple Mac mini. QuickerTek claims the new Transceiver can give the Mac mini up to a mile of wireless networking range. The 27dBm Transceiver for the Mac Mini pumps out an impressive 500 milliwatts of RF power in comparison to the Mac mini's built-in Airport's 30 milliwatts. This is the second Mac mini product from QuickerTek, last month they unveiled the Mac Mini Wireless Networking Antenna. The Mac Mini 27dBm Transceiver is available for $180.

QuickerTek - "We have extended the development of the 27dBm Transceiver line to include the popular Mac Mini. Users can expect wireless networking reception to extend up to a mile. Simple to connect and easy to use, this new Transceiver is $180 from QuickerTek dealers.

The 27dBm Transceiver is a high-powered wireless booster for Apple Airport users under Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X. The Mac Mini Transceiver resolves the range problem often experienced when using small-cased Airport-capable computers.

This new 27dbm Transceiver operates on all 2.4GHz, Wi-Fi systems. The transceiver supports both 802.11g and 802.11b wireless networks and works with both OS9.x and OS10.x systems. This product is designed especially for Apple's Airport Extreme wireless systems and allows the maximum power output allowed. Apple wireless products have RF output of only 30mW, while this Transceiver delivers a whopping 500mW.

The kit comes with mounting brackets, adapter cable, wall mounted power supply and utility software CD. The Transceiver does not require any installation software.

"We needed maximum wireless for our trio of Mac Minis inside our own office. We tried one of our 27dBm Transcievers just to see how much they helped our network. It worked so well we had to let our customers in on it," said QuickerTek president, Rick Estes.

QuickerTek is a recognized leading innovator of antennas and RF products for Apple desktop and portable computers. QuickerTek products can be purchased at Mac dealers such as Small Dog Electronics, TechnoWarehouse, PowerBook Medic, and many others, including a growing group of Mac Mini online retailers."
