Apple has released Server Diagnostics 3X109, a new version of their software that allows owners of the Mid 2010 Mac Pro and Mid 2011 Mac mini server to monitor their systems for hardware issues. The software itself runs a customizable set of tests to help diagnose issues with the following server components:

  Boot ROM

  Ethernet Controller

  Hard drive

  Power Supply

  Video Controller

Users can run Apple Server Diagnostics in Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI), which is referred to as AXD EFI tools, or in Mac OS X or Mac OS X Server. The update weighs in at 10.66 MB and requires Mac OS X Lion.
