News Apple Releases Java Updates for Snow Leopard and Leopard Tuesday, March 8, 2011 - 10:54 PM EST Posted by: Glenn Apple has released Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 4 and Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 9 via their Software Update utility and website for direct download. According to the company, Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 4 delivers improved compatibility, security, and reliability by updating Java SE 6 to 1.6.0_24. It weighs in at 74.81 MB and requires Mac OS X 10.6.4 or later. Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 9 delivers improved compatibility, security, and reliability by updating J2SE 5.0 to 1.5.0_28, and updating Java SE 6 to 1.6.0_24 for 64-bit capable Intel-based Macs.
