Cynical Peak Software today announced the release of Rivet 2.3, an update to their application for streaming video, music, and photos to the Xbox 360 and Sony PS3. According to the company, this version of the software adds official support for the CEIVA Pro 80 picture frames from CEIVA Logic, Denon audio/video receivers, and Plex Media Center. It also adds a few highly requested features and improvements, along with a host of smaller improvements and bug fixes.
Users can now specify an image to use as a thumbnail instead of the QuickLook generated thumbnail giving them more power to view exactly what that want to. Thumbnails have also been enhanced with a new system that manages their caching to provide better performance and disk utilization. Navigation has also been enhanced with the addition of smart sorting. Titles will no longer include the common words the, a, and an when sorting. Rivet 2.3 also adds a number of speed and performance
enhancements that greatly improve parsing of the users media libraries and streaming.
Rivet 2.3 is priced at $18.95 and comes with a limited streaming demonstration period. It's a free upgrade for existing Rivet users.
