News Kanex Intros Mini DisplayPort with Digital Audio to HDMI Adapter Wednesday, September 30, 2009 - 10:59 PM EST Posted by: Brian Kanex today announced the release of its Mini DisplayPort with Digital Audio to HDMI adapter. Unlike their first generation adapter with USB audio, this adapter combines the digital output from your Mini DisplayPort and Apple minijack into a single HDMI output solution. This allows for a true audio/video experience with support for 1080p video and 5.1 surround sound. It also features a USB 2.0 input able to supply power to the adapter, so no external power source is needed. This adapter supports HDMI 165 MHz, 1.65Gbps per channel, and like the first generation adapter, it supports HDMI resolutions of up to 1080p and 8 bit per channel. The Kanex Mini DisplayPort with Digital Audio to HDMI adapter is also able to support uncompressed audio such as LPCM, but can also support compressed audio DTS Digital such as DTS-HD and Dolby True HD formats.
