News The Sims 3 Released Tuesday, June 2, 2009 - 6:06 PM EST Posted by: Glenn Electronic Arts today announced the simultaneous worldwide release of The Sims 3 for Mac and Windows. According to the company, the third installment of The Sims allows players to create more than a million completely unique Sims personalities, influence characters' behaviors, alter their body shapes and immerse them in a thriving, seamless neighborhood just outside their door. And with all-new quick challenges and rewarding game play, The Sims 3 will inspire players with endless creative possibilities and unexpected moments of mischief and surprise. The Sims 3 for Mac is priced at $49.95. System requirements call for an Intel-based Mac running Mac OS X 10.5.7 or later, 2GB of RAM, 6.1GB of free hard drive space, and ATI X1600, Nvidia 7300 GT, Intel GMA X3100 or better graphics. The game will not run on PowerPC-based Macs or Macs equipped with Intel GMA 950 graphics. The Sims 3 is also available today for download from the App Store for iPhone and iPod touch.
