News Apple Releases Security and Java Updates Thursday, February 12, 2009 - 5:01 PM EST Posted by: Glenn Apple today released Security Update 2009-001 for Leopard and Tiger (PPC) via its Software Update utility and on the Web. According to the company, Security Update 2009-001 is recommended for all users and improves the security of Mac OS X. Apple also released Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 3 for Leopard users. This release updates the Java Web Start and Java Applet components to address security and compatibility issues. There's also a new Java update for Tiger users.
