Paul B's Mac mini setup

My setup:

- 2GHz Intel C2D Mac Mini with 2Gb Ram, 120 Gb hard drive [OSX Leopard, Remote Buddy, Elgato Diversity DTT - Eye TV & Iceguide, VLC, photo presenter, Google Earth +, Backup 3.0]
- 2 x 750 GB Ministack V2 external drives [Firewire]
- Sharp 42 Inch LC- 42PD7X [LCD]
- Yahama RX-V3800Bi AV Receiver
- I Pair B&W Series 685 Speakers [Mmmm Sweeet!]
- Apple Wireless Keyboard
- Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse
- Harmony 785 Remote
- Sennheiser HDR 120 Wireless headphones [unseen, rightside cupboard]
- Flipclock
- 2 X 750 gb Newertechnology Ministack NAS [Downstairs office for backup]

The Mac mini connects to the receiver via minijack to rca cable connector, why? Its the only way zone out works on the amp . DVI to DVI to carry signal to the Sharp LCD. HDMI from reciever to TV for overly complicated GUI on amp. The mini is used for music, movies, photos, home movies, web, and TV. Officially my/our first Mac and lovin' it, replaced a way too large windows box [Unreliable - What a surprise!] and a sony 160 Gb hard drive dual tuner DVR. We hardly use the Harmony 785, the apple remote works great for most functions and is very child friendly and quite chewy [21 month old son], apparently.

Thanks, the room isn't that large and I have had 7.1 speaker setups but all were just not what I wanted, too many cables, poor quality speakers, bad choices, so I bought the best I could afford and got a pair of speakers, instead of 7.1 of lesser quality. In terms of bang for buck, these rock. I would love to own a pair of B&W 805 signature series bookshelf speakers one day, matched to a NAD T175 or NAD T 785 and a C372 amp, mmmm one day! Why bookshelf, with little ones running around bookshelves are less prone to damage and the price is right. Also I don't have the cash or the necessary amps to run floor speakers. '
