Thank's for comments, I thought long and hard about the issue of having closed door affect on remotes etc. The control of main sound system is through Bose Wireless & mini uses wireless key board & mouse so control through door is good. have also ported remote codes from remotes to bose system so I can control STB & DVD recorder. I have control of all main functions of units. Thought of modifying door so line of site IR works but preffered minimalistic look. No real urge to change anything, all goes well. PS I have HD on DVD recorder, digital pay tv & standard digital stb. Also mini is networked for bittorrent ...

umm... hwat are those things below the tv in the wall on the ground? they is ugly. otherwise nice. hope you have a big sub to make up for those tiny speakers.

You can get IR repeaters fairly cheap. I've done it in my house and have the TV upstairs with all the control electronics in the basement. I only have to go downstairs to change out a DVD. With the 360 allowing for remote on/off by the controller it makes life so much easier.

Rob, dimensions of room is 5Mtr x 4.2Mtr x 2.8Mtr High. Yep have looked at IR repeaters but decided that programing most of the functionality through Bose wireless remote gives me enough control. Next project will be programming Tv via web using minimac..
