Dandj Mac mini II
|
Mac Mini in a "Mil-Spec" box, mounted in our 4WD motor home behind the drivers seat. It's used for our moving map navigation system and entertainment centre for travel across the Australian outback. The lower section houses dc-dc power supplies, and above the Mac Mini are a USB hub, external disk drive and audio amplifier. Not shown are the GPS and 17 inch LCD monitor mounted in the dashboard.

How do you switch the MacMini on?

I put my hand in through the top to reach the power button. In practice, it's on all the time we are travelling so we rarely need to reboot/power up, it takes very little power when sleeping. Remote power up is on the to-do list for our next trip.

if you wanted you could simply set the power stting in system prefs to automatically restart after power failure, then you could just cut power to the whole box, and then when you turn the whole thing back on again the mini will start up
