I thought I would update my user setup photo, since many components have been added or changed. I added a Cinema Display, AirPort Extreme, iSight, LaCie D2 HD, iPod nano, desk lamp, & new keyboard tray for the mini. Most importantly the PC is GONE!
Anon [Oct 08, 2005 at 05:58 PM]
love the easy button
bsnoel [Oct 08, 2005 at 06:30 PM]
You can get an easy button at www.staples.com for US $4.99 Just search for "easy button" or search for 606396 .
Jake [Oct 08, 2005 at 09:07 PM]
Why did you get rid of the hp from what i read about i was really nice wasnt it?
bsnoel [Oct 08, 2005 at 09:53 PM]
I did not get rid of it entirely, I let my wife use it, because her PC died. Its on the next desk to the right. I made a rule, that I can still use it any time that I want.
jonmon [Oct 08, 2005 at 11:16 PM]
that's a fine looking collection of toys. great desk too
Jake [Oct 09, 2005 at 12:50 AM]
whats that thing under the desk?
OGN [Oct 09, 2005 at 03:06 AM]
How do you like the iCurve? I was thinking about buying one for my iBook.
bsnoel [Oct 09, 2005 at 08:06 PM]
The thing under my desk is the subwoofer for the Sound Sticks, and / or the APC UPS. The iCurve is a little wobbly, but not horrible. As long as you plan on hooking up an keyboard and mouse the iCurve is fine, just don't plan on typing on the laptop's keyboard very often.
OGN [Oct 10, 2005 at 12:20 AM]
I want to use my Apple BT mouse and keyboard with it. I've read the iCurve is a little unsteady. There's another laptop stand called the Lapvantage. They have one in white that looks really cool. Another cool thing is you can adjust the height and it rotates like a lazy susan. The problem is, it's too expensive. http://www.lapvantage.com/
bsnoel [Oct 10, 2005 at 05:41 PM]
As long as the surface under the iCurve is stable, I don't see the wobble as too much of an issue. The wobble is mild, but none the less it is there.

What about the lavalamp? Apple sticker?
Rock [Oct 26, 2005 at 11:37 AM]
I notice you have been using wireless bluetooth keyboard. Do you use a single keyboard to control all the macs? How do you switch to different mac i.e powerbook, mini and g5?
bsnoel [Oct 26, 2005 at 09:24 PM]
At the moment, the mini is headless, I will be getting a DVI KVM at some point soon. If you look closely, you will see two bluetooth keyboards, one is in the tray below the desk for the PowerBook. The lava lamp is just an Apple sticker.

You are one RICH guy I wish I could get even a quarter of what you have got
Reko [Nov 03, 2005 at 05:50 AM]
You dont wear shoes around the mac do ya. You're my ultimate mac user hero! I love all the money you've spent to be so iLife! Love it! Looooove IT!
bsnoel [Nov 22, 2005 at 07:16 PM]
Ranger1021... Material things are nice and I am grateful to God for the blessings He has given to me. However, I need to remember that material things alone do not bring lasting happiness. The truth is that this year I did not exercise the best judgement and I went overboard on my computer. Normally, I don't buy one machine a year, let alone 3.

bsnoel [Nov 29, 2005 at 11:53 PM]
Office Depot® Windon Computer Desk, 31 1/2 "H x 60 1/16"W x 29 7/8"D, Oak "http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?level=SK&id=157105&No=20&Ne=6+1+10313&Nr=FILTER(domestic)&N=1000000137+10324&An=browse" Copy and paste between the quotes
tomtux [Dec 02, 2005 at 09:12 AM]
you should consider getting rid of your caller id and hooking your phone cord to your mac mini headless and setup ncid networkcaller id you can then have the info sent to your powermac through the network and pop up on your screen ^_^
heFay [Dec 05, 2005 at 07:50 PM]
give me it man
m4r10 [Jan 29, 2006 at 04:48 AM]
For what you use the Mini?
bsnoel [Feb 05, 2006 at 12:15 PM]
I was using the mini as a file / ftp server. However, I just sold the mini to pay off my new iMac Core Duo. I will miss the mini, after all, it was responsible for creating my Mac addiction. Selling the mini was a good thing, because the mini is busy converting another Windows user to Mac OS X.
Sepp [Feb 13, 2006 at 08:00 PM]
Bought a Belkin DVI/USB 4-port Switch to hook up G5, Mini and 1-2 PCs... didn't work out... Cinema Display gets confused. Keyboard won't pass through special Apple keystroke (sound, eject etc.)... any solutions ?

what's the pencils and stapler for? what is that in the lower right... a doggy door?
bsnoel [Mar 04, 2006 at 01:21 PM]
The lower right is another subwoofer for my wife's PC. The Red Stapler is my ode to the movie Office Space.
Herfy [Mar 06, 2006 at 08:34 AM]
Nice overall setup, but the desk is really cool one. Got to have a look at officedepot.

Anon [Mar 08, 2006 at 10:23 AM]
kevin wrote "Looked I want to cry, to envy " (at least that's what http://dictionary.reference.com/translate/text.html [Traditional Chinese to English] told me)
STEWART [Mar 08, 2006 at 02:41 PM]

winston [Mar 12, 2006 at 11:41 PM]
Annon has got Kevin almost right. Actually he meant "looking at these I want to cry, how I envy you!" BTW the dictionary was doing ptretty well.
JoJo [Mar 13, 2006 at 09:19 PM]

Anon [Mar 31, 2006 at 09:37 PM]
Love your comment that you are gratefull to God for the blessing he has given you. For those of you that would like a setup like this, try being grateful in advance of getting what you want. It works miracles. Nice setup.
Trav [Apr 12, 2006 at 07:23 PM]
I agree with Anon. Hopefully the Lord will grace my free-lance design with the type of success that will grant me things like this. If not, that's okay too.

kb3llm [May 01, 2006 at 01:25 PM]
according to google translate, Kevin meant "I look at the exhibits, envy!"
Anon [May 10, 2006 at 02:54 PM]
Bsnoel, nice setup of some truly wonderful equipment. NOTE: To those expressing envy at Bsnoel's stuff--it's great stuff, but just be thankful you have your health. Stuff can come anytime!
bsnoel [May 12, 2006 at 06:23 PM]
I actually sold and replaced some of the stuff since this photo was taken. However, I'm not going to post any more photos for that very reason. It was NEVER my intention to make someone feel bad or to create envy.
Anon [May 13, 2006 at 12:51 AM]
5 Star setup. Very nice indeed. An updated pic would be nice. This is the user setups pic thread afterall, isn't it?
Anon [Jun 03, 2006 at 12:39 AM]
Very nice setup, bsnoel!
mujako [Jun 05, 2006 at 05:42 PM]

bsnoel [Jun 07, 2006 at 11:05 PM]
The mini came first.
Tyler [Jun 23, 2006 at 01:28 AM]
you should sell the mac mini and get an imac.
Anon [Jul 03, 2006 at 01:03 PM]
I believe that bsnoel has said that this has already happened, Tyler.
Tyler [Jul 16, 2006 at 05:51 PM]
How do you like the Soundsticks?...I'm getting some in a couple weeks...
Anon [Jul 17, 2006 at 04:32 PM]
I wish I could still find one of those desks at Office Depot. My wife wants one badly.
bsnoel [Jul 23, 2006 at 05:14 PM]
The Sound Sticks are very nice, you will enjoy them. I have pretty much outgrown the desk since this picture was taken. I either need to get rid of some stuff or get a bigger desk.
