I thought I would update my user setup photo, since many components have been added or changed. I added a Cinema Display, AirPort Extreme, iSight, LaCie D2 HD, iPod nano, desk lamp, & new keyboard tray for the mini. Most importantly the PC is GONE!

I did not get rid of it entirely, I let my wife use it, because her PC died. Its on the next desk to the right. I made a rule, that I can still use it any time that I want.

How do you like the iCurve? I was thinking about buying one for my iBook.

The thing under my desk is the subwoofer for the Sound Sticks, and / or the APC UPS. The iCurve is a little wobbly, but not horrible. As long as you plan on hooking up an keyboard and mouse the iCurve is fine, just don't plan on typing on the laptop's keyboard very often.

I want to use my Apple BT mouse and keyboard with it. I've read the iCurve is a little unsteady. There's another laptop stand called the Lapvantage. They have one in white that looks really cool. Another cool thing is you can adjust the height and it rotates like a lazy susan. The problem is, it's too expensive. http://www.lapvantage.com/

As long as the surface under the iCurve is stable, I don't see the wobble as too much of an issue. The wobble is mild, but none the less it is there.

What about the lavalamp? Apple sticker?

I notice you have been using wireless bluetooth keyboard. Do you use a single keyboard to control all the macs? How do you switch to different mac i.e powerbook, mini and g5?

At the moment, the mini is headless, I will be getting a DVI KVM at some point soon. If you look closely, you will see two bluetooth keyboards, one is in the tray below the desk for the PowerBook. The lava lamp is just an Apple sticker.

The truth is that this year I did not exercise the best judgement and I went overboard on my computer. Normally, I don't buy one machine a year, let alone 3.

you should consider getting rid of your caller id and hooking your phone cord to your mac mini headless and setup ncid networkcaller id you can then have the info sent to your powermac through the network and pop up on your screen ^_^

For what you use the Mini?

I was using the mini as a file / ftp server. However, I just sold the mini to pay off my new iMac Core Duo. I will miss the mini, after all, it was responsible for creating my Mac addiction. Selling the mini was a good thing, because the mini is busy converting another Windows user to Mac OS X.

Bought a Belkin DVI/USB 4-port Switch to hook up G5, Mini and 1-2 PCs... didn't work out... Cinema Display gets confused. Keyboard won't pass through special Apple keystroke (sound, eject etc.)... any solutions ?

The lower right is another subwoofer for my wife's PC. The Red Stapler is my ode to the movie Office Space.

I actually sold and replaced some of the stuff since this photo was taken. However, I'm not going to post any more photos for that very reason. It was NEVER my intention to make someone feel bad or to create envy.

The Sound Sticks are very nice, you will enjoy them. I have pretty much outgrown the desk since this picture was taken. I either need to get rid of some stuff or get a bigger desk.
