Is it just running in a mac mini case?

That looks to be a MiniStack case and a nice dremel job.

very very cool. would this be possible with a slot load? or would it be to small to do?

castaway, ur part rt. dremel and a nexstar hdd enclosure. required an eide cable adapter. hardest part was finding screws for slim drive. wanted slot load but couldnt justify the extra expense.

Why didn't you install an external slot loading DVD burner?

Did you make any mods to the back blablabla ?

If you would have used a DVD writer with a silver besel, it would have been perfect!. I did it differently, I used a LaCie D2 case from an CDRW and installed a Pioneer DVD 110D with a silver besel. Funny is, that the enclosure is recognised (through it's firmware) as a CDRW, though it just works fine . Still use it more than the built in DVDRW in the 2.0 mini itself. I don't like the vibrations in the mini that much, when the DVD is in use. I actually think I can see the effects on a burned DVD, but that's probably nonsense...

T Barnes. What did you use as the base or legs. This would resolve the heating issue I have with the Mini.

@agnustic: Seems like clear rubber doorstoppers, I have the same and they have an adhesive layer on top
