Dandj's Mac mini
|
Mac Mini in a "Mil-Spec" box, mounted in our 4WD motor home behind the drivers seat. It's used for our moving map navigation system and entertainment centre for travel across the Australian outback. The lower section houses dc-dc power supplies, and above the Mac Mini are a USB hub, external disk drive and audio amplifier. Not shown are the GPS and 17 inch LCD monitor mounted in the dashboard.

I think this keeps unwanted hands out of your car as it does not look like there's expensive stuff inside... It does not look very stylish though...

It's hidden behind the drivers seat and out of the way. Style was not the objective, pure functionality and reliability was what we needed (and this we get).

Mil-Spec is right. It looks like it can take a few 22s.

Not pretty, but very cool. Nice job.

Just returned from a 5 month, 20,000 km trip across Western and Northern Australia, mostly on rugged outback tracks. Mac Mini performed faultlessly, even in temperatures up to 50ºC.
