Shawn's Mac mini setup
|
|
This is my Mac mini that I picked up on 7/12. As you can see, it fits nicely into the entertainment stand and works well on the Samsung 61" DLP. I have it networked, wirelessly, into my home system so it has access to my 160GB net-drive for storage. I'm happy as I can sit on the couch and surf, create music, etc. with my wireless keyboard and mouse. Life is good.

Nice setup. Seems like you have enough money...wanna buy me some RAM? Is that keyboard USB? What kind is it? I've been looking for a nice USB keyboard.

I want to hook my Mac mini up to the TV everytime I see one of these HT setups. I'm ordering the Apple DVI to video adapter. I can't take it anymore!

Sorry it took so long for the response but thanks for the comments. The keyboard is an M-audio keyboard from CompUSA for $99.99. It is USB and it works great. I also recently ordered 1G from newegg.com for $92.00. It's amazing that Apple wanted 3 bills.

Nice rig. Are you connecting the mini to the sammy with the dvi > hdmi port or are you using svid/composite?

The mini is actually VGA. The DVI/HDMI port is taken by the HD satellite receiver.

You may want to play around with you speaker placement for optimal sound. Like move them forward, apart more and toe them in a bit.

Everthing works fine on the television. As for moving the speakers, if I took a picture looking the opposite way, the couches are huge and don't leave much space.

Very nice. How is your screen res though? Considering buying a mini for my Sony Wega 55" LCD HDTV and Apple tells me the screen res would really really suck because the graphics card couldn't run that TV. What do you think?

i dont know about his setup, but i have connected my mini to a few tvs, i had it connected to a 27" tv via vga, and i had it connected to a 42 inch plasma via dvi, and they both looked sharp at 1024x768, and the 42 looked great at 1440x1050
