DMXell's Mac mini setup III
Well, Christmas came and I got some new stuff for my desk, so I thought I'd upload a new photo showing them off.

I got four new things:

- A new mouse: The Mighty Mouse just annoyed me. The scroll wheel collected dirt and hasn't been functional for a month. The bottom collects black lint and looks ugly. It's a giant button which is bad for first person shooters (which I play) when it comes to sniping. The short cord often tangles up. And overall it's simply not worth the $35 or so that I spent for it. I love the design and feel of it, but it's just got so many problems. So one of the things I asked for was this Kensington Laptop Wireless mouse that costs only $25. It feels a lot like the Mighty Mouse (even being smaller despite the need for batteries). It's only a three-button mouse, that that's enough for me. It's shiny and looks great. And, best of all, if the batteries were to die, it also has a cable on the inside which is thinner and lass tangly than the Mighty Mouse cable. If you're having the same problems with the Mighty Mouse, look for this thing at the Best Buy online store. I love it.

- A Robot Lamp: On one submission to 123macmini.com I saw someone with a robot lamp. I did a search and the first result turned up the exact lamp the person had! I asked for it and got it for Christmas.

- Blue Snowball Microphone: I do screencasts and web streaming, so I've been needing a good microphone, and this is just that. This is the best microphone out there for the buck (around $100 USD).

- Final Cut Express 4: My robot lamp is holding it. This is something that I've been needing, especially since signing up for Digital Post Production 1 in college.

It's not as powerful on the Mini due to the lack of an internal power supply for the Mac Mini. But in Final Cut I just apply a gain of 20-30 and it sounds nice.
