I'm thinking it will run Leopard. I am also pretty sure it will run hotter than Tiger.
By the way, I love 12" PowerBooks. |

probably not core image, but leopard should run fine.
I don't think it's worth the money for leopard. I know i'm not upgrading right away.. no real reason, that i can see. Almost everything that they are adveritsing I can do on tiger..

It you are comparing Tiger with Leopard, you are somewhat correct. Like you said, you won't be able to run core animation, since the G4's aren't based on a 64-bit platform. Apple is keeping some new features unshown, so hopefully you will be able to run those. |

64-bit / 32-bit has nothing to do with whether a Mac will support core animation. It's all about the GPU. _________________ -=iMav=-

iMav is on the money, I was just about to post that about Core Image.
Core Image/Animation should be fine on erudite's 12" 1.5GHz PowerBook G4. It has a nVidia GeForce FX Go5200, which is a Core Image capable card.
Come on guys, do a little research before you post. _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external

I would say yes. Apple have been very kind to us users will a older Mac, making sure that we all get the best unlike Microsoft
Your PowerBook should run the new OS better than my iMac by miles _________________ - MacBook Pro, 15inch, 2.4GHz, 2GB, 160GB HDD, SuperDrive. I Love this Mac!!!!

I said i'm pretty sure, not positive. I said this because with leopard, there will be more features than Tiger, and i'm guessing this causes the computer to work harder, causing the PowerBook to heat up. |

Sorry I thought I was right, but I guess I was wrong.
So the PowerBook could possibly run Core Animation better than the current mini? |

Yes, due to it's dedicated graphics versus the Mini's integrated graphics. However, the raw processor power, system bus speed, and dual cores of the Intel Mini may overcome any deficiency as compared to an older G4 based PowerBook. _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external

What about a mini with 1.5 Ghz PPC Processor and 512 MB memory (hoping to upgrade that, but probably getting a macbook before).
Should I upgrade, or just wait for a new macbook? _________________ Andrew
