Absolutely great!
Thanks so much for sharing.
You make me want to run out, buy a mini and upgrade my cube this weekend!
Are there extra descriptions & higher resolution images available for those who would like to have a closer look, but have never tackled a project of this magnitude?
Thanks. |

A video card upgrade would require the Mini logic board to have an appropriate expansion slot. It doesn't have one. The existing integrated video is just that: integrated.
Now, I suppose someone technically could try and intercept information going to the video chipset on the logic board and reroute them to an external video card. The engineering required to do so seems crazy. All the time and effort would be better spent buying a more capable computer. |

Really, can't say enough about the work on that project. Pefectly executed.
Made me very nostalgic for my Cube. I still remember how I enjoyed having that thing on my desk. (Just last week, in fact, I toyed with the idea of finding another one.)
Again, beautiful work. Enjoy! _________________ http://www.apple-project.com |

Amazing mod...very creative solutions to some vexing issues. Congratulations--you deserve every bit of attention that you are getting.

This is one of the best Mac mods I have ever feasted my eyes upon! It's like all over the net.
How long did it take to make? |

I would like to buy this mod. I don't have the time or the wherewithal to create something like this. I've always loved the Cube, but I don't think the G4 has got much legs left in it.

Thanks for the support and kind comments, but my baby is not for sale at this time, sorry!!
Fox: I don't know, I have no knowledge if it can be done or not since I never looked into it. My speculation is no.
icerabbit: I had no intention of making it a tutorial so my comments were brief and to the point. If you have specific questions then just fire a pm. I will see what I can do about the pics.
eldelmac: This forum has a ton of info on the adapter, just search for it cause its not available at any store. serpent and kaidomac made the magic happen so a huge thanks goes out to them!
Macscout: Tough question, it took me 4 months to be 110% satisfied with everything, if I took all the days I truly worked on it, it would probably be 3-4 weeks with 1-2 weeks of preparing. |

I am speechless! People have talked about doing something like this for a long time. I'm glad to see someone with mad modding skills finally get the job done. The SATA mod has been done more than a few times on 123macmini, but I can't believe how you routed the Mac mini's SuperDrive and IR receiver in there too. I also can't believe how you traded out fans for the Zalman. Just incredible! _________________ 14" 1.25GHz G4 iBook (died)
