I brought my iMac 17" Core Duo (1.83GHz, 160GB, 512MB DDR2, Superdrive, ATI X1600) on 5 October 2006. How to know if its a recent one. Secondly, is there any difference between the ones produced in January versus those in recent months like August/September?

This site has a serial number decoder. Parts of the page are not in english, but enter your serial number, and the resulting page will give English results.

My Mac mini was built in March of 06
