Is there a performence diff. between a 8mb and 16 mb drive if they are both 300GB 7200 RPM? Here are the drives in question:

OK I'll say it so you dont have to:

"The real difference is 8 MB."

Well, of course the 16MB is better. It's cheaper too with the sale on the Maxtor, so that should answer your question!

Its easy to say that a 16mb is better than the 8mb based os #s. I was kinda looking if anyone had realword experience or actual benchmarks.

I prefer the look of the seagate. I feel it matches the mini better.

Looks like I found my own answer at cNet

http://reviews.cnet.com/Seagate_Pushbutton_Backup_External_Hard_Drive_300GB/4505-3186_7-31288961-2.html?tag=top

http://reviews.cnet.com/Maxtor_OneTouch_II_300GB/4505-3186_7-31121421-2.html?tag=top

and about the Maxtor:

"For Apple aficionados, OneTouch II can make a fully bootable copy of a Mac system."
