Yeah, I guess the thing with itunes is that, even if you don't have an ipod it's a really cool way of keeping your music in one place. Ipod connectivity is only half the story. _________________ mac mini coreduo 1.66ghz. 1.25gb 60gb HD

Sure it's a blatant rip off of iTunes, but there are a few cool things here and there. If Microsoft wants to give Apple a real fight, they should bundle the Zune software with Vista and eliminate that stupid point system to buy songs. Ok, I've seen enough, heading back to Tiger and iTunes. |
They are using the same point system on Xbox Live and the upcoming Windows Marketplace as well, that point system isn't going any where soon. The system generally pretty confusing, I would expect a couple law suits to spring up eventually. _________________ | Mac mini 2011 | Apple Thunderbolt Display | Apple keyboard and Magic TrackPad | 2Tb Time Capsule | Apple TV (3) | iPhone 4s |

In typical Microsoft fashion, the Zune software doesn't work with Vista:

Unbelievable. So much for getting your early adopter base excited about your new product.

He's the new emperor, Steve Ballmer. _________________ | Mac mini 2011 | Apple Thunderbolt Display | Apple keyboard and Magic TrackPad | 2Tb Time Capsule | Apple TV (3) | iPhone 4s |

| Quote: | Ballmer became Microsoft's 24th employee on June 11, 1980, the first business manager hired by Gates. He was initially offered a salary of $50,000 as well as a percentage of ownership of the company. When Microsoft was incorporated in 1981, Ballmer owned 8% of the company.
Ballmer has headed several divisions within Microsoft, including Operating Systems Development, Operations, and Sales and Support. In July 1998, he was promoted to president, and on January 13, 2000, he was named chief executive officer when Gates stepped down from that position.
While Gates retains control of technological vision, Ballmer handles company finances. In 2003, Ballmer sold 8.3% of his shareholdings, leaving him with a 4% stake in the company. The same year, Ballmer ended the Microsoft stock-options program,[citation needed] a program he himself was instrumental in setting up in the early 1990s which made so many of its employees millionaires.
Ballmer is currently the longest-serving employee of Microsoft. Ballmer married Connie Snyder (a Microsoft employee) and has three children. |

I've been saying for years Ballmer would be managing a Wal-Mart were it not for the pure luck of having met Bill Gates. _________________ | Mac mini 2011 | Apple Thunderbolt Display | Apple keyboard and Magic TrackPad | 2Tb Time Capsule | Apple TV (3) | iPhone 4s |

It looks like a standard text list interface to me, don't be distracted by they option to customize your background, which is the major difference. |
True man. Text is text, but the rest of the UI is pretty snazzy. I still like those backgrounds, and really dig the way album art is used. I also like some of the transitions and overlays. The controls, on the other hand, are a little clumsy. They really make you appreciate the click wheel. I can't wait to see Apple fire back with the 6G. I think it will sport a new UI too. |
