Well, some people buy an iPod and then dress it up to make it look like a clown. Some people buy a Mac and then dress it up to make it look like their old Windows machine. Go figure. To each their own...

I think that was already pretty much a given.
But then my Mom has dozens of outfits to dress up her plastic lawn goose.

Out here in the lame mid-west people by concrete geese for $25 at the local garden center then spend hundreds buying them little outfits. Say what you will about each coast, the same silly stuff happens here in the "fly over zone", it just gets couched in home spun goodness to make it seem "normal".
