Tiger Access Privileges

Hi,

I'm been having trouble installing my Canon LiDe80 scanner. The CD that came with only works with OS 9. I downloaded the latest OS X Tiger driver and toolbox program from Canon's web site. The driver was successfully installed, but the Toolbox program gives me the following error message:

"Error creating folder
1008:9,-5000 Access denied error"

This follows with: "you do not have enough access privileges for this installation"

This is the only program that will not install. The latest software update for Quicktime was successful. As usual, I entered my password and it completed the installation.

The scanner had been working with 10.3.9 Panther, but I had to do a clean install of 10.4.1.

You could try logging in as root, but you'd better hope it doesn't corrupt anything...
