The cheapest iMac now has the GMA950 chip so if graphics are important be aware of this.
Looks like the edu-iMac has hit the streets? _________________ iMac intel CoreDuo 17" 1Gb

Yes, upgraded ... and very boring indeed.
Seems that the RAM price has gone down a little bit. |

It looks like the high end mini went from 1.66 to 1.83? I think that all else is the same. Like I said I am somewhat new, and I can not remember the particulars. Please list what has changed. Also, when do you think it will be in the local Apple store?

tm | That's right nothing else. They should be available in a few days in the stores. _________________ iMac intel CoreDuo 17" 1Gb

64 bit is important for apps that are designed around such processors.
It won't be important for Leopard as that would ostracise all previous Mac owners. _________________ iMac intel CoreDuo 17" 1Gb

I just called the local apple store and they said there is a good chance that the new mini will arrive this afternoon or tomorrow. HOwever, I found something interesting from the person I talked to. Lets say I wanted to upgrade the hard drive or memory. If you buy it from a store you will pay more. You buy the mini in its basic configuration than you can upgrade it to a larger hard drive. They hand the old hard drive from the mini to you and charge you for the larger hard drive. Now you have two hard drives the one they took out and the new one they put in the mini. Paying twice for the drive. HOwever, if you order it, it is custom and you pay for only what options you want.
Oh I think that the mem is upgraded to 1 gig. |

BTO will always be that way you can't really expect to buy a built Mini in store swap the HDD and Apple then put the old one back into stock - that's impractical. OTOH if you wanted a second 2.5" HDD ....
The memory isn't upgraded in the UK store. _________________ iMac intel CoreDuo 17" 1Gb

| This update is sheet. It still has the combo drive and 512 MB of RAM. And it's core duo. This isn't the correct way of doing business. If Apple wants to have the best computers woth intel they can't only bump the speed of the CPU. |
