MacMice Unveils The Mouse BT II
Friday, August 4, 2006
MacMice today announced the availability of The Mouse BT II, an alternative to the new wireless Mighty Mouse from Apple. The Mouse BT II is a 2-button Bluetooth mouse with 10mm miniature clickable scroll wheel. The Bluetooth transceiver included with The Mouse BT II supports the latest Bluetooth (1.2) standards, offering better battery life than its predecessor. It is plug-and-play compatible with both Mac OS X and Windows XP systems that support Bluetooth. The Mouse BT II includes two AAA NiMH rechargeable (user replaceable) batteries and a mini-USB desktop charging cradle that plugs into a USB port on your computer. The Mouse BT II will begin shipping on August 9th for $69.99.

I have the original MacMice BT and the battery life (lack of) is definately an issue. Would be interested to know how long it lasts in the new version before it needs charging.
I've always been a bit averse to having charging cradles. Taking up yet another USB port seems to defeat the purpose of a 'wireless' mouse.
On the plus side, they are one of the few mouse that will match the rest of your Mac gear. _________________ PPC MacMini 1.5GHz・1GB RAM 80GB HD・MiniStack v2 250GB Barracuda Leopard |

I always thought "The Mouse" was a good looking mouse. But it should be noted that the company that made them went out of business for some wacky reasons and came back. That's doesn't mean this mouse is bad, but I would definitely wait for the reviews to come out before buying one. JMHO _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

| Nice looking mouse, but the scroll wheel looks like it's recessed into the body too far. |

If this is as functional as it looks then this is what the BT might mouse should have been.
Two real buttons
No one ball that can get dirty
Charging dock.
Jimmybt the dock is no problem because you can
A)not use it and just put your own batteries in
B)only use the dock when you need to charage the mouse |
