You have to wonder what the back of the unit looks like ... no pictures.
I'm still leaning towards the MacPower M9-DX. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini / 1GB DDR / 80GB HD / Panasonic UJ-845-B 8X DL DVD±RW / 10.4 "Tiger"

Me too! The big blue button/light and miniparnter logo on the front look really bad. Who cares how the back looks because the front looks horrible. |

Its nice to have options but one of the reasons I bought the mini was the form factor and its quiet operation. It seems that once you start buying all of these "partners" to the mini it becomes a building-block version of a tower. And will it remain cool/quiet? I think I would be more satisfied with internal upgrades such as a bigger/faster internal HD, faster DVD burner. As for the ports, a simple hub or maybe something like the Belkin firewire/USB hub for the mini would be sufficient without unnecessarily expanding the mini's diminuitive form factor. As I said, options are nice and some will have real good reasons for the expansion boxes but I think personally I'm going to resist and try to keep my mini, well, you know...mini-mized. |

There would be no need for these if the mini had two more USB ports, one more Firewire port, and 100+GB 7200RPM hard drive. I kind of agree with greg to keep the mini...mini! _________________ 14" 1.25GHz G4 iBook (died)

It sure does. But the one push button for backups is kind of a handy feature. |

Doesn't do me any good, I do backups over the LAN, and I don't use Retrospect. Plus, I don't WANT to let someone randomly kick off a backup just by walking up and pushing a button. If the button can be reprogrammed to do anything I want (like the Powermate can) that'd be more interesting. I'd make it the eject button for the combo drive, I think. |

Yeah, it would be nice. Maybe a future revision?
I have to work with what I have now. These enclosures are only adding vertical height to the mini ... something I personally can live with. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini / 1GB DDR / 80GB HD / Panasonic UJ-845-B 8X DL DVD±RW / 10.4 "Tiger"

| I'd be happy with a motherboard upgrade that included a Radeon 9600 or better... so I could use QE2d. Disk drives I can always add on externally. |

Apple might have room if they dump the modem and mount the USB ports horizontally. _________________ 14" 1.25GHz G4 iBook (died)

I wouldn't mind if they got rid of the modem - I'm not using it anyway! _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini / 1GB DDR / 80GB HD / Panasonic UJ-845-B 8X DL DVD±RW / 10.4 "Tiger"
