Odd as I have 8J2135 originally via Software Update and then at Jamie's suggestion downloaded and applied the Combo update but my build remains *135.
What should I do, reapply the Combo or leave well alone?  _________________ iMac intel CoreDuo 17" 1Gb

Only the re-released Mac OS X 10.4.7 Delta update will give you 8J2135a. You originally downloaded the update before the re-release was out there. The Combo updater was not re-released.
The 8J2135a Delta updater simply added some OpenGL files that the original Delta didn't have, but the Combo did.
