Hi
I have this little problem with my mini and my Fujitsu-siemens W19-1 lcd display. I can only install/run win XP when having my LCD display connected by VGA cable and not DVI.
There is no signal with DVI.
OSx works great with DVI.
someone else who had this problem?

thanks.

I too am having this problem. My Mini won't even boot XP when connected by DVI. The whole machine just freezes up. When I connect by VGA, it works fine. When I reboot with VGA and then switch to DVI mid-boot, then DVI works. There's something messing it up during the early part of the boot cycle. Any ideas?

Thanks,
J

The problem is most likely the refresh rate on your XP configuration, it is either too fast or too slow for your monitor, and therfore it displays nothing at says it is 'out of range.'

Try booting into Windows via VGA and change the refresh rate to 60hz, that is very popular among monitors, and then plug in the monitor via DVI and see if it works.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the suggestion. I gave it a try. My refresh was already set to 60. There's something about the Win XP logo boot screen that causes my LCD monitor to lose the connection by DVI. If I get the mini thru the loading screen using the vga connection and switch to DVI it works fine. I'm at a loss. Maybe different drivers? Any other settings changes?

Thanks,
J

Same here.

XP Home SP2 on a Viewsonic VX724 LCD DVI.

No problems at all.

Refresh rate @ 75, 1280 x 1024 (Native resolution)
