| I can't wait to see the price of the DX! I have a hard drive that is looking for a new room to work in. |

Aww heck. USB for the internal hard drive? I goofed. I could have sworn it was Firewire,
but the site says the drive in it is connected by USB.
The firewire hub is great, but I was really hoping it would use firewire for the hard drive. Then it would be bootable.
I might have to pick up a regular old firewire external enclosure for my extra hard drive. |

If the M9 makes less noise and is less expensive than the miniMate…I am going to jump off a bridge! The back of the unit looks nice. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

Has anyone checked out this page?
http://www.macpower.com.tw/products/hdd3/m9/m9dx/2
Access LED indication
Power LED indication
Smart power switch - M9 will power up and down in tandem with your Mac Mini automatically (no need to turn on/off power)
Smart Interactive cooling system
Thermal probe which automatically regulates and varies fan speed according to temperature of the hard drive (Fan Speed settings Low/Auto/High).
User configurable fan settings
I'm feeling sick because the M9 seems has better features than the miniMate! _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

Good morning (and sorry for my english)
Do you think that the heat coming out from the module could be a problem for the Mac mini? In the case of a module put under the Mac mini of course...
I know that there's a heat sink with fan but the case will be warm, no?
thanks

nico,
i share your concern for heat issue. I run a distributed computing project on my mini 24/7. It runs pretty warm as is.
I think I'd put a 5400rpm drive in to keep it cooler, if I get one. I'm not that concerned about the small loss of speed. I just need more storage for music and video. |

Yes it can! Have you ever looked at the dashboard of a yugo and compared it to that of a Lincoln of Cadilac? Big difference. Also most computers for years have had plastic fronts and complete cases that have looked really good. Like the original iMacs. Now plastic made to look like aluminium? That's a different story? |

I see no problems having it made out of plastic, as long as the colors match. The miniMate is a dead on match and reflects light the same. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

| Any guess on price? I think this would sell great under $75.00. |

I was being sarcastic.
The original iMac cases were great! I wonder if any retail stores will carry the M9? |
