A Mac mini Core 2 Duo: A Benchmark Killer
"Willy, a Taiwanese reader, has sent us benchmarks of his Mac mini after having replaced the original CPU with a Core 2 Duo 2.16GHz (Merom T7400)."

I will run Xbench on my Meromac mini later tonight. I'll add some screenshots of the results to that page. As far as power consumption goes, I can give you a comparison of the original Yonah T2300 vs. Merom T7400 when hooked up to a Kill A Watt meter;
Yonah T2300
Off 01 watts
Boot 29 watts
MacOS X/Win XP only 20 watts
MacOS X/Win XP with 2 Folding@home CLI clients 37 watts
Merom T7400
Off 01 watts
Boot 41 watts
MacOS X/Win XP only 21 watts
MacOS X/Win XP with 2 Folding@home CLI clients 51 watts _________________ Fold! It does a body good! |

Just curious... are these power readings with a factory 5400 rpm hard drive? Are the hard drives and memory configurations the same between these two power readings?

This is a stock Mac mini Core Duo 1.66GHz (Yonah T2300) with only the Core 2 Duo 2.16GHz (Merom T7400) swapped in. _________________ Fold! It does a body good! |

That overall CPU score is pretty impressive. The OpenGL and Quartz numbers look nice too. |
