| Anybody have an idea as to when Apple will update the Powerbook models? I'm not talking about the elusive G5 powerbook but how about faster hard drives, faster RAM, maybe the dual-layer superdrive? Also what about HD screens? Isn't this supposed to be "the year of HD"? |

Historically Powerbook updates have occurred every 5-6 months. This update cycle may take longer since everyone is waiting on G5 powerbooks and Apple appears to be having some cooling and power consumption problems with the G5. WWDC June 6-10 seems logical since Tiger is now out of the way! _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

Thanks Curt,
I'm dead set on getting a powerbook but it's a pretty hefty investment so I don't want to see a new model released *too soon* after I plunk down my hard earned cash. I still remember how mad my buddy was after buying his shiny new Powermac G3 and apple released the G4 not even a month later.
Also, I'm starting to hear rumors about a Mac Tablet, which would be nothing short of awesome, but I'm guessing that since they've just secured the patent it will probably be awhile before we see this in production. |
