Plugged a USB 512MB Flash drive into my USB 2.0 powered hub & got the message "not enough power for device." Unplugged the hub from the back of my Mini & inserted the USB drive & it worked fine. Just another instance of a fussy USB device. Not good when you have only two ports to start with. Confused

The hub is powered by the USB port? I had a problem like that on my PC a couple of years ago. The solution was I had to purchase a USB hub with an external power source. Pain in the arse.

Actually, it is a powered 7 port USB 2.0 hub! Fortunately, it works with most of my peripherals (camera's scanner, printer, etc.) Just every once in a while I run into something that MUST be plugged directly into the Mini.

Even if it's the only thing plugged into the powered Hub?

I have a mp3 player (RCA Lyra 1080) and when I connect it to the Mini's USB port I can read from its 256MB SD card and it shows as a mounted drive but when I try to write to it the Finder will freeze. It doesn't let me save to the device and I have to unplug it in order to recover from the Finder freezing. This happened to me on both Panther and Tiger.
Works fine on My old Dell PC in WinXP.
Any suggestions?

Check out the IOGEAR USB 2.0 universal media Hub. It has 6 USB ports (2 up front for Jump Drives, and ports for flashcards, etc.

NewEgg had the best price--by far.
