I think that is his point. Coming out with Halo3 at PS3 release will boost Xbox 360 sales and hurt PS3.

Halo 3 is slated to come out in 2007. More than likely it is going to come out around the same time as the PS3 killer-app, MGS4. That way the Xbox 360 will have something to offer in competition of that game. We can all agree that both of these games are killer-apps (aka console sellers). So look for the both of them to come out within a month of each other. Preferably in holiday season time frame.
