Mac mini ship times increase
Wednesday June 15, 2005
Is the Mac mini in short supply or getting ready for its first update? The online Apple Store has increased ship times for both models of the Mac mini from "same day" to "6-8 business days". Ship times in the UK and France have jumped from "same day" to "1-2 weeks". The increased shipping times have lead some to speculate that new models will be announced soon. Most Mac mini enthusiasts are waiting anxiously for the first update. At the top of the wish list is an improved video card with more memory. Other desired upgrades include an increase in standard RAM from 256MB to 512MB, audio-in jack, and faster hard drives with larger capacity.

I'm kind of skeptical that its any kind of update. I would expect the next real upgrade to have Intel Inside. More likely supply/demand issues. _________________ 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

I second that. At least, I hope so. I don't want my Mini to be obsolete so early in its life. _________________ Mac Mini 1.25 Ghz, 512 Mb RAM |

I think there'll be new models of the Mac mini soon. Why not make the most affordable computer in you lineup more attractive. Especially before back-to–school time! What else is Apple going to bank on until they ship Intel Processors? _________________ 14" 1.25GHz G4 iBook (died)

| Actually I might even (depending on Price) go for the AOPEN wintel mini over a new one, to use as a Hometheater machine. It will have a better video card, component out, and I already have all the apps to make a nice little machine. |

Oh, I am DEFINITELY getting one of those AOpen "minis" once they are available (as long as they are fairly affordable). But that certainly doesn't mean I will abandon my mini...nor does it mean I won't be buying ADDITIONAL minis when updated hardware comes out. _________________ -=iMav=-

| My BTO mini has been on order since 6/7 and has a 6/24 est ship date. My guess is that an updated mini will be introduced next week. |

Well, hopefully they introduce a more respectable video card in to the unit.
Five months dealing with DVI issues, without any acknowledgement of a problem from Apple. |

I received shipping info for my BTO mini that I ordered on 6/7. It shipped on 6/17 from China via FedEx. There are no upgrades to the model
I still can't wait to try out my new mini and Tiger
I am a "switcher" who worked for years supporting windows machines. Using Tiger and Apple hardware will be bliss |

Congrats on your new mini!
The good news is you're getting your mini.
The bad news is no update.
Once you see Tiger you'll forget all about it! |

Shipping times are back to "same business day" in US Apple Store. No updates are coming?

| My BTO mini was "shipped" on 6/17 from China. When I track it on the FedEx site, it still says it is in China "arrived at FedEx ramp" on 6/21. At this rate I should see it sometime in September! Seriously, I hope it arrives soon since I ordered it on 6/7. |
