Hello. I will be visiting San Diego next week (I dont live in the U.S.) and Im eager to buy a mac mini. IŽve noticed there are two apple stores in the city (I dont even know if they are close or far from my hotel). The thing is that I want to buy a mac mini with 512 ram, superdrive and airport installed on it. But I dont know if the apple store can sell me a customized mac or they will tell me to come back a couple of hours later so they would have my order ready or if that kind of upgrade is only available through the online store. Are there any other stores than can suite my needs?

Can anybody help me on this?

You may be best served by calling the Apple Store ahead of time in San Diego and ask them what their status is on Mac mini inventory and upgrades. "if that kind of upgrade is only available through the online store" I'm pretty sure they can do the upgrade for AE/Bluetooth at the store for around US$99.

I tried to get mine from the Apple store and was told I had to order it online because of the extras I wanted to get--superdrive, 1gb ram, wireless set-up. Also, be sure your monitor has the correct adapter for the mini. I had purchase a $99 adaptor for my Apple Studio Display! The adaptor that they sent with the Mini didn't even work with Apple's own display. That pissed me off because I wasn't told about it until after I received in the mail.

So... IŽll just buy a mac mini without the upgrades. I didnt decided though whether its better the 1.4Ghz or the 1.2.
Given that its difficult to buy a mac with all the upgrades, such as 512 Ram, do they sell ram for the mac mini? Is it the same as some other mac? cause I didnt see any ram for the mac mini in appleŽs web site.

P.S. Can u recommend any good not-so-expensive-external DVD recorder I can buy at the apple store?
