Will the iMac please take yet another bow.

That thing is pretty ugly, but it would not look as bad from the front only. The piece comining up the back side of the monitor really kills it.

Let's not get too carried away though. It takes full sized components and it doesn't look much different than a desktop PC with an LCD placed on top. The all black look is a plus. However when I saw the $1000 price tag it became rather ugly again.

I don't understand. In the hardware world, Apple is a pretty small company. Certainly smaller than Sony. Yet they manage to get better engineers, better industrial designers and are willing to seek out and/or make the components they need to make their vision a reality. A big reason why the iMac is so gorgeous is because Apple didn't just slap a standard CD drive (and other parts) on it.

So why can't Sony do that?

I also don't understand how anyone could see an iMac, then see these two and possibly even consider not getting the iMac. It's an f'ing no brainer.
