For sure by back to school.
Apple is playing headgames with us. Traditionally you could mark your calendar as to product releases. Apple has wised up and knows that this has effected sales and no longer wants to be so predictable.
It appears the April fool this year was us. I think Steve Jobs knew all along that we would all be expecting something for Apples 30th. He purposely did not release anything to give us the impression of being unpredictable. He has said that everything will be updated to Intel by the end of the year. That's all we know for sure. |

One site I read said they thought it might be announced today. April 18th, the day before they release some financial statement or another. Other sites are saying by June for sure, but most state by the end of April some kind of announcement will be made.
It's rumored to be a 13.3" Intel Core Duo 1.67GHz. Obviously as of this writing, nothing is "official" yet. _________________ 1.5GHz PPC G4 Mini OS X 10.4.6

I don't think the Macbooks will be coming this week. It will be more like May or June. _________________ 2.4GHz MacBook Pro/4GB/320GB HD

I've read that they've already started manufacturing them. My guess is that they are expecting high demand and want to ensure a steady supply. Given the MacBookPro shortages, probably a good idea.

if the MacBook Apple's releasing is going to be the new iBook, I'll be disappointed. I was hoping the MacBook to look a bit more like the 12 Inch PowerBook.
If they are going to replace the iBook, call it the MacBook Lite. The brand MacBook sounds like it should be up there with the PowerBook, lotsa grunt and power, not for the light hearted. |

at the latest it will probably be be the time Leapord is out to strut their stuff with leapord on a smaller portable Intel than the MacBook Pro that is like 4x the speed of the current 14" model. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."
