MacInTouch & MacFixIt's advice versus some guy's blog? I think I'll listen to the experts.

Well, Jeff Bezos reads posts on Amazon's boards, and has even been known to personally delete prickly ones. Should we expect anything less from Jobbie?

Let's see...

Oi Jobbie,

Stop flapping!
And when is Spruce Goose II due for its maiden flight?

I have a funny thing that just doesn't stick...

Ever since I got my Intel Mac Mini Core Duo, my widgets, reset. Meaning that when I restart or startup, all the widgets that were marked off in the Widget manager magically return as active in the sub menu.

I had this before and after 10.4.6... It is like it gets amnesia and forgets that I asked it to keep the widgets not used inactive in a different folder as the OS does.

But being as thick headed as it is, it still want ALL the widgets to be active...

What is going on here?

PS. As an alternative to Thunderbird (Since it is still in beta for the Intel Macs) I use something called GyazMail. It is surprisingly good. I use two mail apps. I have quite a few accounts and need to have them separated well enough for me to keep track.

So I used to use Entourage but will skip that and use GyazMail.

Check it out here : http://www.gyazsquare.com/gyazmail/

MacFixIt has a lengthy and interesting review of both sides of this controversy. Their conclusion?

The bottom line is that repairing permissions is an Apple-recommended, quick process (usually taking less than a minute) that can resolve some significant issues -- whether or not they are directly caused by a Mac OS X update installation.

Oh well, did it anyway and everything works OK. Are there still problems with iSync and a number of phones, or is that already solved? Wink
