Hallo:
Someday hope I will get to the Mac Mini stage.
This is an interesting thread. Been doing some reading.
There are some indications that in the next 3-4 months these
Dual Ultra Core,(Yonah) will drop in price.
A 2.0GZ one will be in the US$ 260 range.
It appears that those that buy the cheaper intel mini,
now can look forward to promising possibilities for future
upgrades, unless over heating becomes a serious issue.
All for now.

Fugger recently said that the back of his mini is "cold, no heat at all" in regards to the heat that the 2.16GHz creates. =D _________________ Computational Media UGrad @ Georgia Tech

I'm about to put in an order for 2GB from OWC and then a Core Duo 1.83GHz that runs for $289 on Newegg (or around there). Also picking up a 7200rpm, 80GB SATA drive from newegg. Hopefully around spring break (2ish weeks) everything will have arrived at my house and I'll post a nice how to with possibly a video. =D |
That would be friggin' beautiful. |

The new mac mini (Core duo or not) runs the adobe software(for example) via the Rosseta -as i heard-, what i wanna know is: won´t it be slower than the old procesor because of these program running and sucking memory?
thanks |

I don't know about the Intel Mini...but as a comparison, Photoshop CS2 runs FASTER for me, under Rosetta on my 2.0Ghz Intel iMac than it did natively on my 1.42Ghz G4 Mini. (iMac with 2GB ram and Mini with 1GB ram) _________________ -=iMav=-
