Hubbell Unveils New Mounts for Mac Mini
Saturday March 4, 2006

Hubbell has updated its line of mounts for the Mac mini. The Mini mount, Mini mount Universal and Mini mount Shelf are now available in clear, white, florescent orange, and florescent green. According to the company – "In celebration of Apple releasing the new Mac mini, we're releasing new Mini mounts. And, because the form factor of the Mac mini hasn't changed with this latest revision, all of our products will work great no matter which version you own."

Hubbell also added a channel on the back of the Mini mount and Mini mount Universal for cable management. The channel is both wide and deep enough to support cables to every port and up to 1/4" (6.25mm) in diameter. You can see additional pictures of the new mounts in this gallery. All models are shipping now.

Anyone buy one of these and can comment on the quality?

Thinking of getting the new ICDMM and wall mounting it does seem appealing. Are these sold in the UK?

How would wall mounting work - if the logo is upright isn't the slot load facing down? Come to think of it it wouldn't be consistent with using the IR remote would it?

This is a nice idea and design -- but $50 for the basic model and $70 for one with a light in it? It's a just piece of clear plastic cut with a jigsaw, bent with a heater, and with some holes drilled in it.

Could you not buy a bit of perspex, a hand saw, and just figure out a way of heating and bending the arms yourself? It might not have the edges filed and sanded, it might not be as well shaped, but it would probably cost you $40 less, before shipping and tax.

Bah, humbug, I say. If I really wanted one, I'd just make it myself.

Hey, I have thought of my own product. They're called iClips, and they're paper clips exactly matched to the metalic finish of the Mac Mini. They are perfect for anyone who works with paper near their Mac Mini. They're more efficient with paper than the Finder is with your files. They're so cool! I'm selling them in boxes of 100 for the bargin price $40 (shipping and handling is $20).
