Don't we hear this every other day with a new so called iPod killer! Hey Intel isn't falling behind AMD bad enough! _________________ 1.42GHz Mac-mini

| Once again Apple proves it sets the trends and the Wintel world follows behind. Plus it looks kind of ugly! |

If they can make it nearly silent, and keep it from roasting itself to death, then I'll be impressed.
Those were the biggest advantages (to me) of the Mini... tiny size and quiet operation. Until the Mini it's been possible to get one of the two, but almost impossible to get both in the same package. The Mini has both, in spades!
If this new Intel plastic box manages to hit the same goal, I'll give it a closer look. But I'm not gonna hold my breath on that one... |

For me the mini was a great low cost way to try out the Mac. For me it had nothing to do with the size of the box. _________________ Mac mini powered up on 2-11-2005 |

PC's do NOT have to run windows!!!!
I have serveral x86 systems at home and NONE of them run the nasty. *BSD and Linux are both great alternatives. _________________ -=iMav=-

Agreed...the mini does, indeed, kick tail.
Its biggest accomplishment is getting new mac users "in the door". An affordable, entry-level Macintosh...allowing all those wannabe Apple owners the cost-justification needed to give OS X a try. _________________ -=iMav=-

| The minis price, size, and versatility convinced me to buy my first mac and i think that a lot of people will be taking the mac plunge soon enough. |

As soon as I'm sure Tiger is in/on the little one, I'll buy one! _________________ take care,
