There is a guy who has a mac mini setup I saw on 123macmini.com. Here is his page.... http://tenant.com/mini.php
I went out and bought everything to emulate his setup with the exception that the 60" sony wouldn't fit in my home so I bought the 55" sony instead. I followed all of the directions he has provided but my screen still ends up black, with no picture. Please help me as I have just spent a forturne on this equiptment and now very frustrated it's not workiing. _________________ Kevin Swan |

i just set up my MacMini w/ Front Row on a 46" Samsung DLP .
no problems. very easy to set up. hmmm.
how do you have the mini connected to the Sony? i used a DVI to HDMI cable.
did you change the Sony input to HDMI? (or whatever input you used)
did you accidently choose Interlaced resolution in the Mac OS X System Preferences?
did you start the mini on something you know works? to confirm the mini is working? |

| not sure if its significant, but i did not need to use the DisplayConfigX app. it worked immediately upon boot. i did have to turn overlay off in Display in Mac Sys Prefs |

thank you for your reply. i finally got it to work after long hours of messing with it and reading other forums and things. i actually downloaded from versiontracker.com a VNC client and changed my settings on my mac mini from my laptop via internet. it worked perfect. my only problem faced now, like many others, is overscanning. any help you can give me on overscanning issues would be greatly appricated. _________________ Kevin Swan |
