|
|
My 12" iBook is brand new, since I only use it on the road. I've let the battery go all the way down and then re-charged it about four times. Fully charged, it says only 4hrs. 30 min. Is this what it should be? I thought I read where a new battery should run 5 1/2 - 6 hrs.?
So far I've only used the iBook for e-mail and general net surfing. |

| I also just got a new 12 inch iBook, and when I conditioned the battery, I got 5 hours and 45 min out of the battery. Of course I was only streaming music the whole time with the display off. Since then, I have not tested it, but I can use it off and on all day on a single charge with power to spare. I guess this is not much help, but it all depends on what you are doing as to how long the battery lasts. It's kind of like MPG ratings on new cars, your mileage may very. |

I haven't actually timed how long I got on it. I was just going by what it says next to the little battery icon.
I'll be taking it with me next week. Guess I should make a conscious effort to time how long it really runs.
Thanks for your reply. |

I get around 4 hours use out of the battery in my, fairly new 12" iBook as well. (bought it new in Oct 2005).
I'm seriously considering replacing it with a new MacBook Pro. (not because the iBook is lacking in terms of what I need...but simply, I gots to have me a dual-core Mac!) _________________ -=iMav=-
