I think it might depend on your emial host. I find, now that Iím set up for IMAP, Mail just pulls everything from Gmail, including the Junk. Although it prefilters it to the Gmail Junk mailbox.

Iíve considered bouncing spam, so that the sender would get the bounce and delete the address, but I think they wouldnít care to check for such things.

I donít think you can block any email unless you are running the server, at which point you can set up whatever filtering policies you want.

Just make sure that you never click the unsubscribe links, since that proves that the email is a good email address.

Happy new year to you, SC.

And thanks for replying. Yeah, this junk mail thing is very annoying, time-wasting. Now I just use Apple Mail's Rules in preference to move all the junks to trash... It's not very efficient, but working to some extent. Every day now I got about 100 junk mails in Trash can b4 reading them.. and I keep on adding more in Rules! One interesting and disgusting junk is sent FROM AND TO ME! That makes no way to be put in Rules and trash it. Have any idea? Again thanks.

Sadly, I donít have any recommendations.

If it were not for a HDD crash from too many power outages, Iíd still be on 10.5. So Iím not really up to speed on all the inane changes that have been made on the way to 10.10.
